Senate Speaker George Furey will represent Canada during the Crimea Platform summit, which will be held in Kyiv on August 23, the Crimea Platform press service reported.
“Canada has confirmed its participation in the Crimea Platform Summit. The country will be officially represented by Senate Speaker George Furey NL,” the message reads.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andriy Shevchenko expressed gratitude for the support of the Ukrainian state.
“Thank you for the high level and real – not false – support for our struggle!” Shevchenko wrote on his Facebook page.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba reported that the number of confirmed participants in the founding summit of the platform for the de-occupation of the Crimean Peninsula (Crimea Platform) had increased to 42.
