The Ukrainian government has approved and submitted to the National Security and Defense Council a proposal on three-year sanctions against companies associated with Russia.

“Due to the Russian Federation’s ongoing armed aggression against Ukraine (…) to approve and submit for consideration by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine a proposal to apply three-year personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against the legal persons as per the annex,” according to a government directive dated December 12.

The list of companies is stamped “for official use,” the document said.

Once the resolution is in force, the Foreign Ministry is to inform relevant authorities of the European Union, United States and other countries for the purpose of considering imposing similar sanctions, the directive said.
