Ukrainian businessman Pavlo Fuks intends to challenge in court the decision to impose personal sanctions on him.
“I will be fighting for my name and will file a lawsuit against this decision,” he said in an interview with Ukraina 24 TV channel on June 18 evening.
“I am a citizen of Ukraine, who pays taxes, through which, among other things, the army is financed,” he said, adding that “I have nothing to do with the companies that Danilov spoke about [NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov],” he said.
Fuks linked this decision to Danilov’s former affiliation with the Yabloko party. “The leader of this party is Brodsky [Ukrainian businessman Mykhailo Brodsky]. This is Danilov’s revenge on me personally,” he said.
A business conflict has been going on between Fuks and Brodsky for several years. According to him, he does not intend to leave Ukraine. “This is my country, I come from here and will live here,” he said.
According to the NSDC secretary, the sanctions were imposed on Fuks in connection with the activities of the Golden Derrick company.
