Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has nominated the candidacy of the Criminal Investigation Office’s Head Serhiy Knyazev for the position of the National Police chief.
“Tonight I have nominated Serhiy Knyazev for approval by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman as chief of the National Police of Ukraine. I proposed this nominee after an advisory competition, initiated by myself and held from December 15, 2016 until February 6, 2017,” Avakov wrote on Facebook on Feb. 7 evening.
According to him, the prime minister will decide on the nominee at a Cabinet meeting on Feb. 8.
