If you’re looking for a good deal on an iPhone, Ukraine is a good place to go shopping.
Ukraine is in 9th place in a list of 71 countries with the cheapest iPhones on sale, according to a study by the largest online store in Latin America, Linio.
The best countries for iPhone shopping, however, are Angola, Japan, China and Finland.
“We quickly realized the huge influence of tariffs, taxes, and inflation on price,” the company wrote in its study.
Apart from iPhones, the company researched average prices of thirteen different popular devices, both iOS and Windows powered.
Sony PlayStation 4 and Xbox One games consoles were also on the list. Ukraine happens to be the second-cheapest country for Playstations ($255), and the 6th for Xboxes ($252). The cheapest Xboxes are on sale in Switzerland.
Add up the prices for the fourteen popular gadgets priced by Linio in each country, and it turns out the cheapest place for buying tech is the Middle East. That’s because despite having relatively high costs of living, the countries in that region tend to charge low value-added tax on consumer products.
At the other end of the scale, the most expensive countries for electronics were countries like Belarus and Venezuela, where inflation and import restrictions have pushed prices up for consumers.
Ukraine is 43rd in the overall ranking. The cheapest country for gadgets is Kuwait.
