Verkhovna Rada deputy of the Servant of the People party Zhan Beleniuk won the title of world champion in Greco-Roman style wrestling, having defeated Hungarian Victor Lorints.

As Espreso.TV reported, Ukrainian defeated Hungarian with a score of 2:1 in the final in Kazakhstan’s Nur-Sultan.

28-year-old Beleniuk confidently overcame the qualifying rounds in the category up to 87 kg successively removing from his path the Mexican Alfonso Leyva (5:1), Croatian Ivan Hallaca (7:1) and Belarusian Nikolay Stabba (3:1).

In July, Beleniuk said that after his election as people’s deputy he would be forced to compete at his own expenses, Espreso.TV reported.

Beleniuk is the silver medalist of the 2016 Olympics. He has already won the world championship gold in weight up to 85 kg in 2015, and silver in weight up to 87 kg in 2018. Now he has become the world champion in this weight.
