“The Grif and the Kalkan were shelled at 15.10 p.m. on Aug. 31 three miles off the coast near the populated area of Bezimenne. The shelling sparked off a fire aboard the Grif, which sank,” the border service’s press service said.
Other coastguard boats were dispatched to rescue the crews of the attacked boats, as a result of which eight crewmembers were rescued. Seven of them had been wounded. The search for two other crewmembers is continuing.
