Lectures were cancelled at Lviv universities and students approached the tented camp in columns. The traffic was blocked along Svobody Avenue.

People remained on the square despite rain, snow and high wind.

The organizers read out an appeal to the president demanding that all terms be fulfilled for signing the Association Agreement with the EU.

The students planned to walk to the city administration headquarters to demand Governor Oleh Salo’s resignation.

One more rally in support of Ukraine’s European integration is to begin at 1900.

Meanwhile, several thousand students gathered at the regional administration building in Ivano-Frankivsk.

They chanted “Ukraine Above All!” “Students for Europe!”, “People Want European Freedom!” “Youth for European Integration!” and they demanded seeing Governor Vasyl Chudnov. Chudnov emerged and said Ukraine is moving towards the European Union. “It’s a lie!” “Shame!” the students responded.

They read out a resolution demanding that the EU deal be signed, Education and Science Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk dismissed, paid services cancelled and round-the-clock access to student hostels guaranteed.

Police formed a ring around the building. No incidents were reported.

In some estimates, the rally had brought together some 5,000 students.

After the rally the students marched back to EuroMaidan.
