JSC Ukrposhta from February 1, 2021 joins the world postal operators, exchanging preliminary electronic customs data on international postal items with enclosed commodities.

“To do this, the clients must fill out customs declarations online in the user’s personal account, mobile application or the APE system,” the message from Ukrposhta, distributed on Monday, said.

This requirement applies to the registration of customs declarations for international shipments with enclosed commodities sent in registered parcels, packages, recommended small packages, M-bags and in international postal item with a declared value. From March, international EMS shipments will also join this list, becoming available for online registration.

“Clients who come to the office with paper declarations will be offered an additional service for reprinting data from such declarations. The cost will be added to the cost of the postal rate,” the message said.

Ukrposhta also said that most of the popular countries for Ukrainian exports intend to process shipments without preliminary customs data only in the second priority.

The company also said that in accordance with the articles of the Regulations of the Universal Postal Convention and new regulatory customs documents of a number of countries, postal operators are required to switch to the use of preliminary customs data in electronic form.
