Outlining the volume of weaponry deployed by Russian forces over the past seven days, the president reported the following figures:
-
Approximately 2,200 attack drones
-
More than 1,730 guided aerial bombs (KABs)
-
106 missiles of various types, with nearly half classified as ballistic.
“Practically every day, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, Dnipro, as well as border and front-line communities, are under Russian shelling,” Zelensky stated.
Zelensky noted that while Ukrainian air defense forces currently intercept over 90% of incoming attack drones, the military remains highly vulnerable to the ballistic missiles and heavy guided bombs included in these massive strike packages.
He referenced a recent ballistic missile strike on Kyiv that resulted in 31 fatalities and 102 injuries as stark evidence of this vulnerability.
The push for anti-ballistic interceptors
To counter the volume of incoming threats, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is actively working with European and North American partners to secure continuous supplies of interceptor missiles, particularly through initiatives like the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL).
Russian Strikes Kill One in Izyum, Wound Three in Zaporizhzhia
“We are strengthening our air defense by working jointly with Europeans on anti-ballistics. We need responses from our partners to our requests for air defense,” Zelensky stated. “Every package of interceptor missiles is real protection of lives.”

A Russian missile strike on Sunday in Kharkiv region destroyed a gas station in the commercial district of Izyum, killing one man and injuring three women. Earlier, a drone strike on Bohodukhiv killed two men, while another drone attack in Kharkiv city wounded at least five people.
