President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine had secured significant new defense commitments following a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein format, including more than $2.5 billion in support for air defense, long-range ammunition, drones and missiles.
In a statement shared by the Office of the President of Ukraine on Thursday, Zelensky said the meeting, with took place in Belgium, produced “significant results in support of our country and our people.”

He outlined three main areas of assistance.
The first is new contributions to the PURL program totaling more than $1 billion. Zelensky said this was the largest amount of PURL support announced within the framework of Ukraine Defense Contact Group meetings.
He thanked Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Latvia, Iceland and Australia for their contributions.
The second area is support for the Czech initiative and the supply of long-range shells. According to Zelensky, partners announced more than $500 million in assistance for this track.
Ukraine is expected to receive some of the long-range munitions as early as this month.
The president thanked Norway, Denmark, Luxembourg and Spain for their support.
The third area is support for the production of Ukrainian drones and missiles. Zelensky said partners announced contributions of about $1 billion for this effort.

He expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Norway.
“We thank everyone who stands with Ukraine,” the Ukrainian leader concluded.
