President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to attend the upcoming 52nd G7 Summit, which is scheduled to take place from June 15 to 17 in Évian-les-Bains, France, under the French G7 presidency.
French Ambassador to Ukraine Gaël Veyssière previously said that Ukraine would remain a central issue on the agenda.

“We have already decided to invite President Volodymyr Zelensky to the G7 leaders’ summit,” Veyssière said.
Air defense likely to top Kyiv’s agenda
Zelensky’s expected attendance comes as Ukrainian cities face repeated large-scale Russian aerial attacks involving missiles and drones.
Kyiv is expected to use the summit to press G7 leaders for more interceptor missiles, particularly for Patriot systems capable of shooting down ballistic missiles. Ukraine has repeatedly warned that without stronger air defenses, Russia will continue to target major cities and critical infrastructure.
Zelensky has also called for Europe to develop its own anti-ballistic missile capabilities, arguing that the continent needs a stronger shield against Russian missile threats.
Energy resilience and financial support
Ukraine is also expected to seek additional support for its battered energy sector, which has been a regular target of Russian strikes throughout the full-scale war.
Discussions are likely to include funding for repairs, emergency equipment and longer-term protection of energy infrastructure ahead of future Russian attacks.

Western leaders are also expected to discuss broader financial support for Ukraine, including the possible use of frozen Russian assets and continued sanctions pressure on Moscow.
Pressure on Moscow
Beyond immediate military needs, Zelensky is expected to use the summit for face-to-face talks with leaders of the world’s major democracies.
Ukraine has urged partners to tighten sanctions, increase defense production and accelerate deliveries of weapons already pledged.
The summit comes as Russia continues to reject calls for a full ceasefire while escalating attacks on Ukrainian cities, underscoring Kyiv’s argument that only sustained pressure and stronger defenses can force Moscow toward a durable peace.
