State Concern Ukroboronprom informs about successful completion of one of the stages of tests of the military state customer of new domestic 152-mm ammunition for the artillery armament used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the conflict zone.

The new 152-mm shells for the Giatsint (Hyacinth) artillery system, developed by the state-owned artillery joint-stock company Artem, successfully passed one of the stages of the military department’s tests at the military range in Chernihiv region, the press-service of the state concern said on Thursday.

“The shooting was conducted by Ukrainian artillerymen in Chernihiv region, and the result was assessed by a commission of the Defense Ministry. High-explosive shells were used in the course of firing. And advanced ballistic radar produced by one of the NATO member countries was used to assess the ballistic characteristics of the shells,” the message reads.

New domestic large-caliber projectiles are designed for one of the most long-range army artillery systems – Hyacinth, which has a range of firing up to 30 km, the press service of the state concern said.
