At least nine people, including four children, were wounded in a Russian strike on a children’s hospital in Kherson on Wednesday, Oct. 29, Ukrainian officials said.
The southern city, briefly occupied by Russian forces in 2022, remains under constant threat from shelling and drone strikes across the Dnipro River, which serves as the front line in the region.

“The enemy opened fire on a children’s hospital in Kherson,” said Ukraine’s ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets. “Nine people were wounded – among them four children and three medical workers.”
Footage released by city authorities showed broken windows, debris scattered across hospital corridors, and bloodstains on medical equipment.
Meanwhile, Russian attacks have also hit Odesa, cutting power to tens of thousands of households. Energy company DTEK reported that roughly 30,000 homes were without electricity Wednesday morning.
“Damage is extensive and restoration will take time,” the company said.
A UN-backed investigation has accused Russia of systematically targeting civilians in Kherson. The report said drone strikes and other attacks along the Dnipro River’s right bank forced thousands to flee and constituted crimes against humanity, including murder and forcible population transfers.
