The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, has said that despite an absolute superiority in firepower and increased number of troops, the Russians are not succeeding on the battlefield, whereas Ukraine’s defensive operation is being carried out successfully according to the plan.

Zaluzhnyi said this in a phone call with General Mark Milley, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Ukrinform reports, citing the Telegram page of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Despite an absolute superiority in firepower, increased number of troops and, accordingly, attacks at the expense of mobilized soldiers, the enemy has no success. Thanks to the courage and professionalism of Ukrainian soldiers and officers, our lines remain unchanged, and the defense operation is being carried out successfully according to the plan,” Zaluzhnyi said.

He also informed Milley that Ukrainian forces are focusing their efforts on the key tasks of liberating the occupied territories, preventing the capture of new areas by the enemy, ensuring the protection of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure with the help of anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, and continuing to form and prepare reserves for future hostilities.
