At the Mobile World Congress, the Kyiv Digital app was recognised as the premier innovative solution for urban development, Petro Olenich, the head of Kyiv's digital transformation and deputy chairman of the Kyiv city state administration announced on Friday.
“We have emerged victorious in two distinguished categories: ‘Best Urban Innovation’ and Best Mobile Innovation for Digital Life,’” Olenich said.

Expressing gratitude to the organizers, he acknowledged the significance of Ukraine's presence on the global stage, particularly amidst ongoing war.
"We are indebted to our defenders for enabling us to showcase Ukraine internationally, to underscore the realities of war, and the challenging circumstances we face. And we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the citizens of Kyiv for their unwavering support and assistance in our pursuit of excellence," he expressed.
The Mobile World Congress Global Mobile Awards (GLOMOS) stands as the premier global event in the area of digitalization, drawing participation from 110,000 attendees worldwide.
With over 200 independent judges, and 30 awards across six categories, the GLOMOs honor the best of the best as the industry’s most prestigious accolade, judged by the sector’s most prominent subject matter experts.
Reviewed by the World Cities Culture Forum in 2022 a year after it was launched, the Kyiv Digital mobile application was billed as “the city in the phone,” and included increasing numbers of city services as one of the main tools of communication between the city and its citizens.

The application allows the user to replenish a transport card via their smartphone, buy QR tickets, pay for parking, return a car, receive notifications about housing and community services, and vote for city improvement projects.
Kyiv Digital boasts that it allows urban services to become easily and quickly available via smartphone, without bureaucracy or queues. Since the start of the war, it has added information to the app relating to military operations throughout Ukraine including an air raid shelter map, volunteer assistance and alarm messages in addition to standard citywide information.
