Russia launched its umpteenth suicide drone attack around midnight on New Year’s eve. Some Odesans had gathered on the beach for an auspicious swim in the Black Sea and filmed the spectacle of the shooting down of flying bombs on their mobiles.

Unfortunately, this time too some of them hit the target and hit three skyscrapers in the Arcadia district, including a building belonging to the Kadorr group whose owner is the publisher of Kyiv Post.

In one of them a fire broke out, which lit up the night for a few hours. A teenager looking out from the balcony was hit by fragments from a drone and died. A man who ran to save his dogs out in the street was injured.

Altogether about a dozen people who were celebrating New Year's Eve at home or outdoors were hurt.

Unfortunately, the population has become accustomed to constant attacks, and few go to shelters or more protected areas of buildings. The result is the high number of people hit by glass from the destroyed windows.

At the end of the attack the official bulletin of the Southern Defense Forces stated that 28 drones of the Shahed-131/136 type were shot down in Odesa. One was was reported to have fallen on a port terminal.
