The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, confirmed the receipt of the ninth tranche of macro-financial assistance from the EU on his official Telegram channel.

This €1.5 billion payment brings the total received from the EU in 2023 to €15 billion.

“Ukraine received the ninth tranche of macro-financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of €1.5 billion,” the head of the Ukrainian government announced.

Shmyhal emphasized that the EU funds were “one of the most important factors that helps Ukraine to be economically strong and stable.

“Now, together with the European Commission, we are working on a new long-term Ukraine Facility program with a total volume of €50 billion. We expect to receive €18 billion from them next year,” he added.

The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that no one and nothing can distract European Union from granting help Ukraine .
