In a show of solidarity, the flag of Israel was featured on more than 350 digital advertising screens in Kyiv for half an hour on Sunday, Oct. 8. Mayor Vitali Klitschko led this initiative, as Kyiv’s municipal authorities reached out to the owners of these digital advertising structures, encouraging them to display the Israeli flag.

This gesture symbolised the strong support of Ukrainians for the Israeli people, who are facing aggression now. Mayor Klitschko shared photos and videos of the Israeli flag on the streets of Kyiv via his Telegram channel.

“Right now in Kyiv, from 8:00 p.m. for half an hour, we’re displaying the flag of Israel on more than 350 digital advertising screens throughout the city. This is our way of showing solidarity with the Israeli people who are bravely defending their country in the face of aggression,” he wrote.

“I thank President Zelensky and the leadership of Ukraine for their support of Israel, I thank the Kyiv City State Administration for this sign of solidarity with Israel,” Brodsky said, speaking in front of the huge digital advertising screens, displaying the Israeli flag.
