Russian invasion forces continued shelling Ukrainian cities overnight: Five people were killed and 11 wounded, according to the Center for Strategic Communications and General Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
On August 4, four missiles were launched from Belgorod, Russia, towards the Kharkiv Region. The Chuguyiv, Kharkiv, and Izyum districts were shelled and industrial facilities were hit. Four civilians were hospitalized, and one person died.

A mandatory evacuation of the Donetsk region was announced on July 30 by Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk but civilians continue to suffer from Russian attacks.
On August 4, the head of the Donetsk military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, reported that since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, only two-thirds of the Donetsk Region residents had evacuated. In total, about 250,000 people remain in the region.
In the morning, there was intensive shelling of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region where three persons were killed and five wounded. The center of the city of Avdiivka was hit and a rocket attack struck the village school in Ocheretine.
Also in the east, Russians fired three rockets in the Luhansk region, five times used barrel artillery, and shelled five missiles, supporting the attacks with mortar and tank fire. Eight settlements were bombed from the air.
Powerful explosions rocked Mykolaiv in the early morning, when two districts of the city came under fire. According to preliminary information, residential buildings were damaged. The village of Yavkine was also shelled with no victims reported.

Fighting took place in the Kherson Region, and explosions were heard in almost all regional communities. Two residents were injured by shelling in the Kochubeyiv community.
The invaders shelled Dnipro Region from self-propelled multiple rocket launchers. One house was destroyed, and nearly 50 were damaged.
