The owner of Kyiv Post, Adnan Kivan, visited its office in the Ukrainian capital today to affirm his continued support and to commend the team on its successes.
The Syrian-born, long-term resident in Ukraine, successful Odesa businessperson, philanthropist and Ukrainian patriot, thanked the Kyiv Post staff for living up to his expectation of it being, in his view, an exemplary model of the free press, and a highly respected source of news and information about Ukraine.

“In today’s difficult conditions,” he told the Kyiv Post team, “of war, disinformation and fake news, your role is even more important.”
“I am proud and grateful that in you I have true champions of democracy, which as you know is my most esteemed value,” he continued.
“What you do is important for Ukraine. Getting the truth out to the outside world, not only in the West but among my Arab brothers.”
As we reported on 23 May, the Kyiv Post celebrated the first anniversary of the launch of its Ukrainian-language version, and 18 months since it reappeared in a revamped form.
