According to the Russian Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, also known as the “Butcher of Mariupol”, Ukraine is responsible for disrupting the school year in the central and eastern parts of the country, a “fact” that is purportedly confirmed by the contentious Amnesty International report published on Aug. 4.
“In violation of all the norms of international law and common human ethics, almost all buildings for educational purposes in the central and eastern regions of the country are used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, mercenaries, and nationalists, for ammo depots, staff headquarters, communication points, and other military facilities. This fact was highlighted by the international organization Amnesty International,” Mizintsev said.
He added that Ukrainian and western media are “deceiving” the public by saying that the Russian army resorts to indiscriminate shelling of civilian objects.
Referring to the purported use of school buildings for military purposes he said that “By depriving children of knowledge, they deprive them of the future.” He also insisted that “The Kyiv regime and its western patrons” must take full responsibility for what he called “yet another crime against the population of Ukraine”.
Mizintsev is sanctioned by the UK and Australia and stands accused of ordering the destruction of a maternity hospital and a theatre where more than a thousand civilians were sheltering in the southern port city Mariupol which was razed to the ground by the Russian army.

Mizintsev is the latest figure to use the controversial Amnesty Report to play down unlawful Russian military activity.
Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, cited the report during an extraordinary session on the Zaporizhya Nuclear Power Plant. Other Russian diplomats, including those serving in Geneva, have also used the report to vilify Kyiv.
Meanwhile, the rogue authorities in Mariupol are preparing a show trial of captured Azov soldiers, who Russia accuses of torturing civilians and being adherents of the Nazi ideology.
