A projectile has hit the administrative building of Denis Pushilin, head of the Russian-led and funded Donetsk People’s Republic, Russian publication Ria Novosti reported on August 23. Pushilin himself was reportedly not there when the missile struck. This was reported by the Russian publication Ria Novosti on August 23.

Russian media outlets issued reports immediately that the projectiles hit the facade, and that the right wing and upper floor of the building were also damaged. A fire broke out in the building later on.

Alexey Kulemzin, the occupation mayor of Donetsk, reported that a man born in 2004 had died as a result of the strikes on Pushilin’s administration. However, according to Russian news agency Interfax, Pushilin himself was not injured and “is in a safe place”. He almost immediately recorded a video message against the background of a destroyed building.

However, there is no information about where and what was fired. In addition, representatives of the propagandist media very quickly found themselves at the scene of events. This is likely to be connected with Russia’s desire to blame Ukraine so as justify any future shelling of peaceful Ukrainian cities.

Furthermore, according to a report by Ria Novosti, there was also an assassination attempt on Igor Telegin, deputy head of the department of internal policy of the occupation administration of Kherson Region.
