The Ukrainian military was immediately urged to be patient and keep silent about the details of these events.
On Sunday, September 4, President Zelensky held the third meeting in the space of a week of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, as a result of which he announced that “Ukrainian flags are returning to where they should be.” The Office of the President showed a photo of the flag raised in Vysokopillya, Kherson Region.
Speaking on the national TV marathon on September 5, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar, commented on the current offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in various fronts.
According to Malyar, the front line in Ukraine is 2,500 km long in total, of which 1,300 km are active combat operations.
“On the entire front, we have a defensive operation involving a complex of offensive and defensive actions. The most active actions are taking place on the Donetsk front, the Russians did not have time to capture the Donetsk Region within the time limits set by Putin, so they became more active,” said Malyar.

She emphasized that there are “successful actions” on the Donetsk front.
“There are certain settlements in Donbas and in the south that are coming under our control; de-occupation is taking place,” she said.
The deputy minister underlined that it needs to be understood that there are certain dynamics in the war – the Armed Forces of Ukraine are advancing in some directions. By contrast, in other directions, they are on the defensive and are fighting fierce battles with Russian occupiers.
According to the Ukrainian military expert Oleh Zhdanov, The Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting counteroffensive actions near Novaya Kakhovka, and the Ukrainian army will advance onto the city of Kherson next.
“The active offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has radically changed the plans of the Russian military. They will have to go into a defensive position,” he said.
However, Zhdanov is convinced that Russia will have no chance of holding on to Kherson Region, which it occupied in the first days of its invasion, if the promised supplies of heavy weapons from Western allies, including multiple rocket launchers, arrive in Ukraine.
