Currently, Ukraine is on the agenda of the European Union, its resistance to Russian aggression and European support are among the most important results and prospects.

“Usually, the Address sums up the results of the year for the European Union and outlines the prospects. Today, the most important results and prospects highlight our country, its resistance to Russian aggression, and the European support that has been and will be provided,” First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska posted on Telegram after the announcement of the 2022 State of the Union Address by European Commission President von der Leyen.

Zelenska noted that she became the first foreign guest of the European Parliament at such an event. The First Lady of Ukraine said that the day before, in a conversation with the President of the European Commission, she had thanked von der Leyen for her personal leadership in granting Ukraine the EU candidate status.
