“We will leave some of the premises, and make up our minds what to do next tomorrow,” he said.

Sokolov said that activists have received a letter from chairman of the regional legislature, Petro Kolodiy, who asked them to vacate the premises.

“The letter is the result of our initiative, proposed at a session of the Lviv legislature,” Sokolov said.

There are 250 people inside the Lviv regional administration building, he added.

The regional administration published Governor Oleh Salo’s letter on its website, which “urges restraint and self-control, and requests an opportunity for the government agencies to fulfill their obligations, especially in what concerns the formation and implementation of the budget, and the maintenance of the vital services.”

Several thousand residents of Lviv occupied the regional administration building on January 23. They made Salo sign a letter of resignation. Salo later redacted his resignation, saying that he resigned under pressure. On the same day prosecutors opened a criminal inquiry into the seizure of the regional administration building.
