“Today at about 12:20 a.m., a group of unidentified people committed mass
riots on Soborna Square in Cherkasy and blocked the building of the
Regional State Administration. The police officers stopped these
unlawful actions, and detained 12 of the people involved in committing
the criminal offence,” the report reads.

The investigation department of Sosnovsky district police station in
Cherkasy has started criminal investigations under Part 1 of Article
294, and Part 2 of Article 341 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (mass
riots, government building takeovers).

Media also reported that several buses with young people of athletic appearance had arrived in Cherkasy.

It was later reported that thugs hired by the government (the
so-called “titushki”) had attacked the building of Cherkasy Regional
State Administration, and in response the law enforcement officers had
used force on the protestors and Avtomaidan activists. According to
reports from social networks users, people were injured, including
Belarusian journalists, in the attack. Police also detained a reporter
