76 Ukrainians who had been held captive by Russian-backed forces in eastern Ukraine returned home on Dec. 29.

The prisoner exchange took place near the Mayorsk crossing point that connects Ukrainian-controlled and Russian-controlled parts of the Donbas.

Later that day, Ukrainians reunited with their families in Kyiv.
