On June 30 nearly 200 students came to the office of the president to protest against the appointment of acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet, a supporter of ousted President Viktor Yanukovych, brought down by the EuroMaidan Revolution in 2014. Shkarlet also was once accused of plagiarism of hs doctoral thesis

Moreover, the education committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, did not support Shkarlet’s candidacy for minister earlier this month, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
