NEWS ITEM: Deputy Interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko gave an interview to local media RBK Ukraine on June 25 in which he said that law enforcement under current Interior Minister Arsen Avakov is professional. Then he said that if police officers could rape and torture people like two police officers allegedly did to a woman in Kaharlyk (and were arrested for it) in May, the police would have already solved the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet, assassinated in Kyiv in 2016.
