“At these elections we registered a record number of candidates –
2,500 candidates on party lists and 2,500 candidates in majority
constituencies. These elections were the most expensive and we estimate
their cost at $2.5 billion since the beginning of the year,” he said at a
press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
Bidenko said the Regions Party had spent around $850 million, the
Ukraine-Forward! Party spent some $150 million, and the election
campaigns of the rest of the political parties cost $350 million, while
candidates in majority constituencies spent some $900 million on the
election campaign.
