The Russia-backed separatists opened fire on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the populated area of the Butovka mine, Donetsk region, one soldier was killed in the attack, the headquarters of the Ukrainian Military said.
“A serviceman of a mechanized brigade, whose unit is fulfilling a mission on the Donetsk track, was killed in the attack on the positions of the anti-terrorist operation forces near the populated area of the Butovka mine using caliber 120 mm and 82 mm mortars,” the press service for the headquarters said on Facebook on April 3.

Despite the agreements reached by the trilateral contact group in Minsk on a ceasefire starting from April 1, the Russian-backed separatists continue breaching the ceasefire, using firearms and heavy weapons, the report said.
