Military intelligence determined the origin of the drone’s components, which Russia purchased from Iran to use as part of its war against Ukraine. Markings were found on the drone parts in Farsi, the official language of Iran,
For the production of Mohajer-6, Iran used some components common to household use and freely available. This allowed Iranian designers to circumvent sanctions. The intelligence specialist said that three quarters of the drone’s components were originally from the U.S., with the remainder being of Japanese, Chinese, Austrian, Swedish and even Ukrainian origin.
“One component is [Ukrainian-made]. Our specialists will find out how it got there,” the Ukrainian intelligence official said.
“All evidence of the involvement of representatives of foreign countries in the supply of weapons and their components to terrorist Russia will be transferred to international organizations to impose economic sanctions on them,” the message stated.
