Special Ops Fighters in Zaporizhzhia Sector Eliminate $25 Million Worth of Russian Equipment in a Week

Special Operations Forces (SSO) in the Zaporizhzhia region destroyed Russian equipment valued at $25 million in one week, including a critical battlefield artillery fire coordination complex that directed Russian artillery, targeting locations of Ukrainian surface-to-surface and surface-to-air fire.

“An incendiary week was organized by the operators of one of the divisions of the SSO for the occupiers in the Zaporizhzhia region,” the SSO Telegram channel said.

SSO fighters detected and identified various Russian heavy equipment, and then effectively coordinated artillery strikes against it. The following types of targets were neutralized in collaboration with Defense Forces units:

• The BM-21 “Grad” – a Soviet-designed self-propelled multiple rocket launcher known for firing 122mm rockets, initially designated the M1964 in NATO countries. Several nations have either replicated or developed similar systems based on the BM-21 Grad.
• The BM-27 “Uragan” (“Hurricane”) – a Soviet self-propelled 220mm multiple rocket launcher primarily used for deploying cluster munitions, boasting a maximum range of 500 kilometers.
• The “Heavy Flamethrower System” TOS-1 – a multiple rocket launcher mounted on a T-72 tank chassis, capable of utilizing thermobaric warheads.
• The Zoopark – a radar system used for countering artillery attacks. It can spot mortar shells within 20 kilometers, artillery shells within 30 kilometers, and surface-to-air missiles within 50 kilometers, pinpointing the source of the fire.

On Oct. 24, the Special Operations Forces reported that the Russian radar complex Zoopark-1 was destroyed in the Donetsk sector.

“In the Donetsk sector, the SSO successfully eliminated the 'Zoopark-1' reconnaissance and fire control radar complex, a prized possession often boasted about by the Russians,” the report stated.

The operators of the 3rd regiment identified and targeted the enemy radar, coordinating effective artillery fire against the complex.

According to the latest summary from Ukraine’s General Staff, the Ukrainian troops successfully repelled all Russian assaults southeast of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
