In the Siberian city of Tomsk, commemorative plaques have begun to appear on the houses of Wagner fighters reportedly killed during the war in Ukraine.

“Attentive residents have noticed that plaques with the words ‘Family of a fighter of the PMC Wagner who gave his life for his homeland’ have started to appear on the houses where their families live,” the UNIAN news agency reports.

Previously, it was reported by Ukrainian partisans, that Wagner fighters had been providing training to Hamas fighters in how to carry out assault tactics and the use of small unmanned aerial vehicles to drop explosives on to targets.

At the end of September, the Minister of Defense of the United States of America, Lloyd Austin, stated that the presence of Wagner PMC fighters in Africa remains substantial.

It is not clear whether this is an isolated occurrence or if the use of such commemorative plaques will become widespread. While it is assumed that the commemorations seen so far refer to those killed in Ukraine they do not actually specify where and when the individual Wagner fighter fought and died.
