The Kherson Region village of Ivanivka has been liberated from Russian invaders by The Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to a statement conducted by the 60th Separate Infantry Brigade on Facebook.

“Thanks to the coordinated work of the [Ukrainian] military from the 60th Separate Infantry Brigade, we have established control over another settlement. Nothing but terrible memories and ‘dead’ military equipment have left from Russian occupiers in Ivanivka,” the statement said.

Communication is being established by the military of Ukraine with local citizens as well as giving aid to those who may need it.

On July 2, 2022, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented that the Ukrainian military had forced Russian troops to retreat from the village of Ivanivka. The village of Ivanivka was previously captured by the Russian army in the southern Russian-occupied region of Kherson. The village has little left of its standing due to the destruction and demolition of the Russian army.

The southern region of Kherson has been occupied by the Russian army since March 2022. The region before the war boasted a population of over 280,000 people, where up to 45% of its residents have fled the city into safety, according to latest reports.

Currently, Ukraine authorities have urged residents in the southern region to evacuate, particularly ahead of a Ukrainian counterattack against Russian enemy invaders.
