Ukrainian partisans blew up a Russian train in Melitopol on Friday, cutting off Russian troops from ammunition and fuel supplies destined for Zaporizhzhia front.

The Center of National Resistance (CNR) reported that at 7:40 a.m. Ukrainian partisans in Russian-occupied Melitopol blew up a Russian train. The train transported ammunition and fuel every day from Crimea to Melitopol and Dniprorudne.

On the way back to Crimea it would carry damaged equipment and loot in the form of iron ore, grain and other property.

The explosion damaged 150 meters of railroad and a diesel locomotive. Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces also said that the railroad track was damaged.

For now, Russian troops have surrounded the site of the explosion and are trying to conceal any traces of the sabotage as they search for the guerrillas. The CNR said that the Ukrainian partisans are now safe and promised more such explosions in the near future.

This is the tenth successful railroad sabotage in 2023 by partisans in the Zaporizhzhia region, the CNR claims.

Ukrainian partisans have scored some big successes in recent weeks – a Russian serviceman provided Ukraine with details used to plan the devastating missile attack on Moscow’s Black Sea Fleet last month.

In exclusive comments to Kyiv Post, a spokesperson for The Partisan movement of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars (ATESH), outlined some of the details of the operation.
