Police officers have identified 17 executioners from the so-called Ministry of State Security of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Kalinin’s colony, who abused captured Ukrainians. This was reported by the press service of the Internal Affairs Ministry on Telegram on July 18.
“Investigators, together with operatives of the Protection of Public and State Interests Department, with the support of the Prosecutor General’s Office, succeeded in identifying 17 people who abused our citizens. Among them are representatives of local crime and former employees of law enforcement agencies,” the agency said.

According to Ukrainian law enforcement officers, all those involved are suspected of treason, participation in a terrorist organization, and cruel treatment of civilians and prisoners of war. As a result, they face up to 15 years in prison.
The Internal Affairs Ministry also released a video with the testimony of former prisoners, including journalist Stanislav Aseev.
According to the police, since the start of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, law enforcement agencies have investigated more than 1,000 cases of torture and ill-treatment of the civilian population and prisoners of war.
Chief of the investigative department of the National Police of Ukraine Dmytro Shevchuk, said: “Illegal arrests and kidnappings, torture and detention in inhumane conditions are the features of their terrorist activities for not recognizing the so-called DNR and cooperating with the Ukrainian authorities.

He added: “To make them confess to espionage and other fictitious ‘crimes,’ prisoners were buried alive… and they were threatened with torture and murder of close relatives, wives, children.”
Ukrainians are reportedly subject to horrific methods of torture, with Shevchuk citing electrocution, systematic beatings, violent acts of a sexual nature, skin burning, gunshot wounds to the hands and feet, cutting teeth, pulling out nails and cutting out genitals.”
The police have gathered information piece by piece which has helped to identify 17 criminals who have abused captured Ukrainians.
