"This night, six drones trying to cross the Kaluga region, were shot down with anti-air defense systems," said regional governor Vyacheslav Shapsha said on Telegram. There were no casualties, he added.
This particular drone attack is the third one during the course of this week. The previous two took place on Sunday, July 30 and Tuesday, Aug. 1, targeting Russia’s Economic Ministry tower in the Moscow-City.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, the drone strike caused an explosion equivalent to about 2 kilograms of TNT, shattering the glass facade of the building over an area of 500 square meters and inflicting significant damage to approximately a quarter of the office space on that floor.
