More than 840 civilians have been evacuated from Donetsk region on August 8, according to the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Donetsk region.

“During the evacuation at the railway station in the city of Pokrovsk, the staff of the Main Directorate provided assistance to 735 people, including 69 children and 9 people with physical disabilities,” the directorate wrote on Facebook.

In addition, rescuers helped six people to evacuate from Bakhmut and Kramatorsk districts over the past day.

During the evacuation in the city of Toretsk, members of the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 102 people, including 10 children and 10 people with disabilities

According to the directorate, since February 24, a total of 9,608 people have been evacuated from populated areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

No more than 235,000 people involved in the process of defense and maintenance of critical infrastructure should remain in Donetsk region by the autumn-winter period, while other people should all be evacuated. Until February 24, 1,670,000 people permanently lived in Donetsk region.
