South Koreas Minister of Lands, Infrastructure, and Transport, Won Hee-ryong, is scheduled to visit Poland for discussions with Ukrainian officials regarding the reconstruction projects in Ukraine following the war initiated by Russia. The news was reported by the Korean ministers office, as cited by Yonhap.

During his three-day visit to Poland, Minister Won intends to meet with high-ranking officials from Poland and Ukraine to explore South Koreas potential involvement in Ukraines post-war reconstruction.

The minister is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding with Ukraines Ministry of Infrastructure, fostering knowledge exchange and the development of smart city platforms by South Korea. These innovative platforms encompass IT-based urban traffic networks and advanced industrial complexes.

According to the report, the Ukrainian side has expressed optimism concerning the participation of South Korean companies in various recovery projects, including the construction of new nuclear reactors and the establishment of infrastructure for hydrogen production and electricity generation.

In February, South Korea announced its plans to provide an additional $130 million in aid to Ukraine, supplementing the $100 million granted the previous year.

Furthermore, just last week, Finance Minister Choo Kyung-ho signed a preliminary agreement with Ukraine, paving the way for providing low-interest loans under the Economic Development Cooperation project.
