Durham, who investigated the FBI’s probe intosuspected ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, found himself at the center of a heated political fight as he appeared before a congressional committee on Wednesday, June 21.
The House Judiciary Committee hearing was focused on Durham’s report which examined the origins of and justifications for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) investigation against the, then, presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The probe, originally code-named Crossfire Hurricane, was initiated after an Australian diplomat exposed that George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign associate claimed to know that Russia had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton in the form of emails.
Durham’s 316 page document was released last month after a four-year investigation into the Trump-Russia probe. It criticizes the FBI at length, accusing the agency of having acted negligently in opening the investigation based solely on vague and insufficient information.
New information about how the notorious “pee tape” claim made its way into former UK spy Christopher Steele’s commentary was revealed in the report. It concluded that the likeliest source for the notorious Steele Dossier report that Donald Trump paid prostitutes to urinate on a bed in a Moscow hotel room was a PR executive with close ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton.

During the hearing, Spartz suggested that since then certain Clinton campaign operatives were given the highest level of national security. In particular she identified President Biden’s national security advisor Jake Sullivan who she accuses of “actually driving the very slow response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian-born Congresswoman also mentioned the failure to consider Russian counterespionage, infiltration into the FBI and crooked uranium deals connected to the notorious Russian oligarch, Oleg Deripaska.
Earlier, The Kyiv Post reported on the infiltration of Russian agencies in the United States the arrest of former Head of the FBI’s Counterintelligence in New York Charles McGonigal, connections to Deripaska and what to do about it.
