The European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council adopted at a session in Luxembourg on Monday conclusions on the events in Belarus, reiterating the EU’s readiness to impose sanctions on Belarusian officials, including President Alexander Lukashenko.

The conclusions “state the EU’s readiness to take further restrictive measures against entities and high-ranking officials, including Alexander Lukashenko, if the situation does not improve,” the Council of the European Union said in a statement seen by Interfax.
