You're reading: Yatsenyuk: 2015 budget options based on current hryvnia exchange rate and exchange rate of Hr 17/$1

The government has not decided on the final forecast for the hryvnia exchange rate for drafting the national budget for 2015, seeing it in the range of Hr 15.77-17 per $1 and waiting for a forecast from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said.

“Now we are drafting the budget from the perspective of two options: either the current exchange rate established by the NBU or an additional assumption of Hr 17 per $1,” the premier told reporters upon arrival in Kyiv after a visit to Brussels for a meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council.

“But we are expecting a forecast for next year from the National Bank, as according to the Constitution it is responsible for the stability of the Ukrainian national currency,” Yatseniuk said.

As reported, the NBU on December 16 weakened the official hryvnia to U.S. dollar exchange rate from Hr 15.760382/$1 to Hr 15.773905/$1 – a new historic low.
