You're reading: Kazakhstan to help eastern Ukraine with food worth nearly 70 million tenge

ASTANA - The government of Kazakhstan has adopted a resolution on providing humanitarian assistance to the eastern regions of Ukraine.

The document was signed on Dec. 19, 2014, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

In accordance with the document, the committee for state material reserve of Kazakhstan will provide foodstuff worth a total of 69.728 million tenge (the current exchange rate is 182.05 tenge for $1) to Ukraine.

The press service also reported that on Oct. 6, 2014, the Foreign Ministry completed the procedure of transferring a membership fee of Kazakhstan to the International Committee of the Red Cross for humanitarian needs of Ukraine in the amount of $30,000.
