Kyiv Post is looking for a full-time, Kyiv-based, English-speaking evening news manager to work with an international team to source, write, and edit news stories.

Requirements

·  Ability to source news stories as they emerge

·  Ability to write clearly, concisely, neutrally – and above all, accurately

·  Ability to self-edit based on the in-house Style Guide

·  Ability to work between 18:00–00:00 Kyiv time

·  Ability to write a 4-5 concise news story, approximately 300-400 words each, within the six-hour working period is a must

·  Ability to publish a short news story within an hour after it breaks

·  Native/C2 English proficiency

·  Knowledge of developments in Ukraine

Nice to have

·  Understanding of Ukrainian politics

·  Familiarity with AP Style

·  Background working as a reporter / or is a graduate with a degree in journalism

·  Ability to take up occasional weekend coverage once a month

·  Ability to work 4-6 hours per day
