Ukrspyrt has launched four more plants due to the increased demand for medical spirit in connection with the spread of the new coronavirus.
“In general, the production plan for March provided for the work of ten plants. Today, we decided to launch four more plants,” the acting director of Ukrspyrt state enterprise, Serhiy Bleskun, said.
According to him, the company is increasing alcohol production primarily to meet the needs of the medical system.
“We quickly responded to the growing demand. Since today, 14 factories are operating simultaneously. According to the needs, we are ready to further increase production volumes. We have the capacity and raw materials for this,” he said.
Along with this, the company introduced an enhanced disinfection regime. Masks were purchased for all employees. Part of the control apparatus is transferred to remote work.
As reported, Ukrspyrt in 2019 increased its net profit by 1.9 times compared to 2018, to Hr 40.3 million. Alcohol production fell by 5%, to 5.9 million decaliters.
Ukrspyrt state-owned enterprise is a large producer of spirit and alcohol containing products in Ukraine.
