The bus operator FlixBus (Germany) intends to enter the domestic transportation market in Ukraine soon, Michal Leman, the director of the company in Ukraine and Poland, has said.

“Yes, we will start domestic traffic in Ukraine very soon. So far, these will not be green lines, but we are planning to open branded routes over time. Moreover, we will open domestic trips in Ukraine on existing international routes. If our bus travels, say, from Kyiv to Poland, it will be possible to buy a ticket, for example, from Kyiv to Lviv or Zhytomyr,” he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

In addition, Leman added that FlixBus currently has an agreement to launch new routes with five to six Ukrainian carrier companies.

“Now we are in the process of resolving legal issues and obtaining permissions, the process has slowed down a bit due to the pandemic, but it has not stopped,” the director noted.

As reported, FlixBus from June 25 began to resume work in Ukraine on selected international routes.

FlixBus, developing bus transportation in Europe and the United States, was founded in 2013. It works according to a partnership model with regional bus carriers that provide their buses and documents for routes, while FlixBus is engaged in sales, marketing and schedule management.
