After years of being sued by other states, Russia struck back at the European Court of Human Rights by filing a case against Ukraine. On 22 July 2021, the ECtHR received the application, in which Russia accused Ukraine of being responsible the crash of flight MH17, of civilian death and mistreatment, a “water blockade” of occupied Crimea, and a laundry list of other absurd charges, of which Russia itself is accused of.
