Head of Luhansk regional military and civil administration Heorhiy Tuka held a meeting with representatives of German companies that build roads and the sides discussed the possibility of participation of foreign specialists in training Ukrainian constructors and attracting bank funds at low rates to implement projects on construction of roads in the region.

“I held a meeting with Germans who build roads. Full support from my side! Two questions arose: how to make that this army of red tape that will be engaged in the project to support it? And how to make that local ‘experts’ do not cry that ‘Tuka is embezzling [the money for] roads as their cost is twice larger than our constructors offer!” but understand that our [constructors] give a three-year warranty (while the road surface disappears in a year), while Germans give a 10-year warranty,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

He said that the issue is very interesting.

“First, the quality of German roads needs no promotion, and secondly, Germans train our constructors, provide solutions, raw materials (mixtures) and control over the quality. In the future all work is done by our companies,” he said.

Tuka also said that if the program is adopted, there is a real chance of attracting German bank funds at low rates.

“However… not everybody likes this – everything is too transparent,” he said.
